Lake Ontario Fruit Inc.
We store and pack fresh apples grown by local Western New York apple growers. Our apples are marketed and sold by New York Apple Sales and can be found in Walmart, Aldi, and Costco, among other retail and grocery outlets.
Collectively, our growers have more than 2,000 acres of SnapDragon®, Honeycrisp, SweeTango®, Fuji, Pazzaz and Rave among other apples under cultivation.
We are one of the largest cold storage facilities in Western New York and the Northeast, with more than 1.3 million bushels of controlled atmosphere and cold storage space in our warehouse.
We pack more than 1 million bushels of apples a year for more than 30 local farms. We are one of Orleans County’s largest employers with more than 90 employees during our peak packing season.
Sales
Through our strong sales program with YES! Apples, and support of industry associations such as US Apple, the International Fruit Tree Association, and the New York Apple Association, we are able to share the rewards of our areas fruit with customers worldwide. We can do this because we take pride in our company, our farms, and our apples.
Owners
Founded in 1982, Lake Ontario Fruit Inc. is owned by 11 growers, members of management, and our sales partner, who keep the company vertically integrated and flexible to meet the changing needs of today’s customers. Focusing on the latest growing techniques and varietal trends allows our growers to stay at the forefront of the apple industry.
Nesbitt Fruit Farms
Purchased in 1968 by David Lynn (Lindy) Nesbitt, the Lake Farm is 500 acres of prime fruit growing land directly on the south shore of Lake Ontario. Currently, Nesbitt Fruit Farms grows many apple varieties, including Gala, Fuji, Pazazz, SnapDragon®, and Honeycrisp apples.
Lamont Fruit Farm Inc.
Lamont Fruit Farm was incorporated in 1966 by brothers George and Roger Lamont, who were the sixth-generation family farmers. The company is now owned and operated by Jason Woodworth and Jose Iniguez. Lamont Fruit Farm currently operates 500+ acres of apples with 27 different varieties, including SweetTango®, Honeycrisp, Rave™ and SnapDragon®.
Orchard Dale Fruit Co. LLC.
Orchard Dale Fruit Co., LLC is an 8th generation family fruit farm located in Western NY along the south shore of Lake Ontario. Our focus is growing top quality conventional apples, strawberries, and blueberries. We pride ourselves in providing the safest, highest quality fresh fruit to our customers.
Sandy Knoll Farms
Sandy Knoll Farms is a fifth-generation family owned apple orchard and grain producer located in Lyndonville, NY. The Woodworth family owns Sandy Knoll Farms and has been growing apples in Western New York for over 80 years. Currently, Sandy Knoll produces SweeTango®, Honeycrisp, Gala, Fuji and many more apples.
Zingler Farms
Established in 1989, Zingler Farms is family-owned and operated in Kendall, New York. Our foundational ethos of “Fruit Craftsmanship” serves as the driving force behind every aspect of our operation – from our mindset to our cultivation techniques. Our mission is to provide a place for our team to feel inspired, have fun, and feel fulfilled while they collaborate with each other to grow world-class apples that delight consumers with extraordinary quality and flavor.
Fish Creek Orchards
Fish Creek Orchards was established as a new partnership in 2011 with Rod Farrow and Kaari Stannard for the development of new apple orchards with exceptional new varieties. In 2015 Fish Creek added two more orchard ownership partners – Jose Iniguez and Jason Woodworth to the company. We couldn’t be more excited than to work with such good apples and great group of grower partners, delivering amazing tasting fruit to our customers.
